One of the 4e Paragon Paths allows you to be so damn good at stealing, you start stealing things that aren't actually things. You can steal the color of a woman's eyes, or the loyalty of the captain of the king's guard. Steal the art from the soul of the kingdom's best poet and keep it in your pocket. At no point does it suggest you doing "magic" in the arcane sense. Your power source is still "martial" ability, you're just getting so badass you are slipping into legendary status.
