Welp, after three long years with them, I’ve decided to throw my old hosting company overboard…
It seems that, contrary to the discussions I’ve had with the owner in the past, it’s entirely too much hassle for them to actually bill me on the 8th of the month. So they have been rolling over charge after charge for months…and yesterday they hit me for $182 buxx. Not Cool.
Looks like I’m going to go with the fine folks at ExpertHost.com instead. They still only bill once a month, but I can get the same features for less money. One of the issues I had with DeepCyber.net is that they absolutely do not take checks. ExpertHost does…so I can set up an automatic billpay to send them a check on the 8th (just like all my other bills), for the following month’s hosting. Pretty cool if you ask me.
They also have additional plans, unlike DCN, so that I can resell space… it’s $15/month for one domain name, and $10 each/mo. for 2-5 domains. So rather than trying to stuff all my projects into one database, if they get to the point where they’re worth paying $10/month, I can split them out into their own actual projects… I’m going to do that for Todd’s Airsoft Rental company venture…
Just have to hold out until Tuesday to get it all done…
