*SONGS YOU HATE, WITH GOOD REASON*

So, I already hated Cher Lloyd's Want U Back – The music isn't bad, if a bit uninspired. I hate it primarily because of the snotty, entitled tone of the lyrics of the bridge.

Remember all the things that you and I did first?
And now you're doing them with her
Remember all the things that you and I did first?
You got me, got me like this
And now you're taking her to every restaurant
And everywhere we went, come on!

*Then I actually listened to the first verse.*

Hey, boy you never had much game
Thought I needed to upgrade
So I went and walked away way way
Now, I see you've been hanging out
With that other girl in town
Looking like a pair of clowns clowns clowns

On the scale of FML, this is the single biggest instance of YFDI I can imagine.

Dumbass.
Give me Carly Rae Jeppson's Call Me Maybe any day. That's a (still fictional) song character who very clearly has her head on straight, by comparison.

  1. I fucking loathe this song, for the same reason.  If the bridge was excised, it wouldn't be any worse than any other pop song, but as is, it makes me want to punch someone.
