The fact of the matter is that across basically every single economic indicator, when you draw a line from 'where we are today' back across the years to 'when was it last like this', things are as good as they were in 2007 and early 2008, and (unlike 2008) the trend line is UP, not DOWN.
While it's not true for everyone, and there are people who will argue 'my life still sucks' (and I won't argue that your life still sucks) the fact of the matter is that collectively we've weathered the storm and (despite what the news reports) the skies are blue, and the sea ahead looks calm.
