I bought #FFXIV ARR.
I signed in to the Square Enix website using Steam. I was not asked for a password at that point (it was handled by Steam, yeah?)
I picked a username, and applied my key while the installer ran.

The client wants an SE login and password.
A) I don't have an SE account password.
B) When I use the "I forgot my password" functionality, it tells me that an account for my email address does not exist.
When I go back to the SE site and log in with Steam, it logs me in with no problem, and displays my chosen username in the upper right where the "login/register" text was before, and it shows my FFXIV game under my profile.
HALP?
+Game Sammich or +Errn Dalton or +Brad Leclerc – any ideas?
Holy crap, that was terrible.
Over an hour JUST TO GET LOGGED IN.

And that's obtuse as hell.
+Audrey Lee did some magic while I was getting some water. I don't know what.
But now it works.
First mistake, you bought Final Fantasy MMO.
I don't have much of a solution to your actual quandry, but I wanted to throw out there that you should totally roll up on Leviathan and stuff.
We've got at least a half dozen of +Audrey Lee's friends playing on Coerl, including +Brian Patterson, +Jeff Gibbs, +Stephen Thornton and +Caroline Harris.
+James Darrow (and his family?) joined us there with an alt, too.
I got in after a couple hours, but am having a hell of a time getting in today. +Audrey Lee is leaving me in the dust, level wise, because she's in, and I can't quite get there (client won't find the NA server list)…
Yeah, the client isn't letting me get even to the character list. Was worried that the weekend would be an onslaught.
