Oh, Florida

Oh, Bank of America…

Oh, this is actually AMAZING!

Bank of America Gets Pad Locked After Homeowner Forecloses On It |
Collier County, Florida — Have you heard the one about a homeowner foreclosing on a bank? Well, it has happened in Florida and involves a North Carolina based bank. Instead of Bank of America foreclosing on some Florida homeowner, the homeowners had sheriff’s deputies foreclose on the bank.

  1. I'd only heard about it from a co-worker a few weeks ago, and it's taken me this long to find it on the intertubes.

    Can you smell that?
That's the sweet smell of some impressive Google-fu, coming up with the right combination of keywords to float that story back to the top of the billions trillions of results.

  2. There's no way I would have settled for the legal fees that were owed to me. The couple apparently had a summary judgement in hand giving them ownership of the bank and the contents.
How much does it cost to purchase a bank branch? That's a fair starting point for negotiation, I think.
How much is it worth for BofA to not have to call/send letters to all your branch customers and inform them that everything in the safe deposit boxes has been forfeit to the new owner?
As the new owner, I'm certainly not going to start hauling away the furniture in a moving truck – I'm going to start by emptying the cash drawers and the vault – perhaps giving a small cash bonus to each of my new employees, should they wish to stay on with the new management, of course.
