The sale of legal marijuana in Denver generated 5 million dollars in revenue in 5 days. 
That's $437,500 in tax revenue, which works out to a pace of around an additional 32 million dollars in tax revenue for Colorado for the year, not counting any sales outside the City and County of Denver.

    You can't really extrapolate the first weeks sales into total tax income for the year. Its new. The "honey moon phase" so to speak.
    But it will still bring in lots of tax dollars and I'm very happy to see this play out.

    Yeah, I tried lots and lots of variations of "if the pace continues" in that sentence, but couldn't make it work in the time I had allotted to write it, so I went with that being implied – with the additional information provided by the linked article, I suspect that the pace from locals will decrease over time, but a not-insignificant portion of that decline will be made up by folks who will have had time to read articles and subsequently plan a Colorado Vaction…
