Errand Day…

I pulled the gas fill valve out of the Garand, and took it to Ace Hardware to see if I could maybe find a fitting that would allow me to attach my external gas rig… No fitting, but we were able to figure out that the gas fill valve is an M5 with 50 threads per inch. THat right there will be a HUGE help in finding an approprate replacement fitting at McMaster-Carr…
External Gas, here I come!

Then I went to get my hair cut. It was getting RIDICULOUSLY long. Got it a little flatter on top this time. It’s still weird getting my hair cut more than once every couple of years, and I’m still experimenting to figure out what I like best.

Finally, off to Big-O for an Oil Change on the Vibe. I decided to use Trip A as the “Miles On This Tank Of Gas Meter”, and Trip B as the “Oil Change Guilt Meter”. 🙂

…and now it’s raining, and I’m typing in my Livejournal, listening to Hawthorne Heights[1], and eating Almond Cookies.

I love Almond Cookies.

[1] Val had not one, but TWO encounters with Hawthorne Heights recently.
She went with her best friend Vicky to see Vicky’s Daughter and SIL in Goodland, Kansas recently. They stopped in Limon, CO for breakfast, and here were these guys…and they just had this…look…about them.
Val went over to them on their way out, and asked if they were in a band.
They said, “Why, yes, we are…but we’re not famous or anything, we’re called Hawthorne Heights”, and they were on their way to Denver, then to Salt Lake City. This was Sunday Morning.
Tuesday Morning, Val’s back at work…and guess who it is coming through Selectee Lane at the Security Checkpoint… (Nah, don’t guess, it’s too obvious…)
She asked if he remembered her, and (naturally) he said he didn’t. (Trust me, you woulndn’t recognise your own mother in a TSA uniform.) She reminded him…”Sunday, at the Village Inn in Limon – asked if you were in a band…”
“Oh, yeah!”
“I thought you said you weren’t famous or anything! You were #2 on MTV’s (Something or Other Countdown) yesterday…” *grin*
“We were? Cool!”

I thought it was kinda cool to be the one to break it to a band of nice guys that Yes, In Fact, You *Are* Famous. =)
