Night before last, something happened to me on the computer, that’s NEVER happened before…and I hopehopehope it never happens again…
I was playing WoW..(surprise, that….) and was stalking something for a quest I had with my friend Buddy…when the computer shut off.
OFF.
Now it won’t POST/Turn on…do anything.
Fans spin, Power supply fans turn, the CPU and HDD lights come on normally. No POST screen.
I pulled the Power supply out of Val’s machine and tested it with THAT. Same symptom.
So, it’s not the Power Supply…
I systematically removed power to the Drives, removed the Data Cables…took out the video card, the RAM…etc…stripped it down to its very most basic elements, hoping to get a BIOS beep out of it…no luck.
$600 later, I have a new Motherboard, Athlon X2 4200+, 2GB of DDR2-800 RAM, and a GeForce 7900GS on its way.
It shipped today. Should be here Wednesday. (2nd Day Air)
