What it is, what it was, what it shall be.

Hmm… sort of not feeling so accomplished after all… Woke up around noonish, I think… Megs had gone out and gotten Burger King, and brought me back some, too… couldn’t really eat much of it… I got about 80% of the Whopper down, a couple fries (never get tired of watching Max and Baloo chase them down and eat them, though…something for Stupid Pet Tricks…that and the Wasabi Dog!). Didn’t even eat the Hershey Cheesecake! (what *IS* wrong with me!?!?!? Nothing, I suppose…I just went and got it out of the ‘fridge, and it’s sitting right here, calling my name now.)

Kinda dorked out on the computer for a little while, Meg napped. We went to our 3 o’clock appointment, which went much better than last week. We stopped by Chez Jose’s in Cherry Creek for some early dinner, dropped by The Tattered Cover and then came home… Meg dorked out on the computer for a while, I read more Harry Turtledove (which I highly recommend, BTW – it would make an *excellent*, if ambitious, TV series just exactly the way it’s written.) Now it’s my turn to dork out again, while Meggie sleeps s’more. I went looking for a boost gauge for the Talon for cheap. found one at Summit Racing for $27…have to keep that in mind.

I got a book that looks like it’s going to be excellent, if a thin read, called THE BIG RED FEZ – (How to make any website better). Seth Godin (nsme recognition for me) wrote it, and the concept is pretty clear… Dont’ Everengineer Your Site. Think of a Monkey in a Red Fez… He wants the Banana, you want him to jump in a pile of Lime Jello…There are complicated ways to induce this behavior, and there are simple ways…the simple way will likely work better. This translates to web customers – not because they are inherently not-intelligent, but they don’t use that intelligence because they are tired, stressed, in a hurry… I.E. they’re typical people trying to get as much done in a short amount of time as they can. Make it easy, and they’ll make it easy on you…make it hard? Well, that’s what the BACK button is for.

I’ve had toooooo much caffeine. I need to blow some shit up… Maybe I’ll get some headphones and start playing Counterstrike again…
