I mean, really, I’ve read several things that link the Oklahoma City bombing to Al Qaida…and it’s been many years since that event. It’s not hard for this administration to blame just about *anything* on terrorism…
But at the same time? I really think that *THIS* is real terrorism. Sure, knocking down the World Trade Center is *flashy*, but once it’s over, most people get back to living their own lives without a lot of residual fear…I work at Denver International Airport (read BIIIG Target), and I’m not worried…
On the other hand, however, we have a guy going around killing individual people randomly from a distance… I know that *I* would *definitely* be afraid to leave my home under that scenario…especially since (when I take the 104 to SkyRide) I sit at a bus stop that’s about 2 miles from I-25 for 20 minutes. If you were going to snipe at me while I was standing there, I’d be a *total* sitting duck, and you’d have *plenty* of opportunity to get away.
My worst nightmare? That Osama Bin Laden/Saddam Hussein/Omar Qudaffi/et al have access to CNN, and cop a clue from this one lone guy…
I can’t even imagine the damage to the US would be like if suddenly there were random snipers in the top 20 (no, make it 19, one of them didn’t make it onto his assigned plane) US Metropolitan areas…
