Katrina…

Personally, I’m appalled at the response I’ve seen over the last week to what’s happening in the south.

I mean, IF NOTHING ELSE, we have lots of airports that are NOT in
Louisiana and Mississippi that have plenty of Air Traffic and Truck
Traffic capacity.
We have MILLIONS of people willing to donate the shirts off their
backs. Water, Batteries, Canned food and anything else you can think of
that people would need.
We have an extensive transportation network that can get those shirts
(and water and everything else) to those airports that have the
capacity.
We also have lots and lots of Air National Guardsmen who fly C-5s,
C-141s, C-130s, and C-17’s that *always* need more practice throwing
palletized loads of random shit out of the back of their planes while
in flight.
Need anything from pallets of bottled water to bulldozers? We can airdrop it to you.

So, why, exactly, is it that we’re not doing just that?

You’re guess is as good as mine…

  1. Because air dropping supplies into areas where gangs are running around with guns wont help the people who need help. You would have the people with power, with guns, hoarding everything that they can “For Survival”. Food that could feed 500 would go to 20. Air Dropping supplies -sounds- like a great idea, but there’s no way then to make sure that it gets distributed properly.

    1. And then we would get video of all that happening on TV, and we’d send in the Rangers and the Marines like it was Somalia…

I don’t necessarily see anything wrong with that, particularly when the rest of the bureaucracy is *this* fucked up:

On a side note: The Poles threw the Russians out of their country after 300 years of domination…with Pitchforks. 20 guys with guns don’t stand a chance against 200 with rocks, so long as those with rocks want what the guys with guns have *bad enough*.
