OK…I’ll try to make a long story short…
US Airways and America West merged last year, and as a result, they started using America West’s gates here at the airport, with the knowledge that they would be building out two more jetbridges to be able to land two more planes simultaneously.
Well, that buildout work is almost done.
In fact, it’s supposed to go into service tomorrow morning. Like “the first departure is at 6am” kind of tomorrow morning.
However…
…nobody notified us of this until late yesterday afternoon, despite our Department Head telling the construction crews last week that we would need a MINIMUM of 48 hours to make the requisite changes to our software once the network cabling and electrical work was complete – and 72 hours would be better.
Did I mention that the electrical work is complete, but the network still isn’t done?
So we’re scrambling to make our changes, and then we’ll just HOPE that the network subcontractor got all their stuff right…
