Version 2.0 is here…
…it…sucks.
*ALL* of the various addons I’ve collected over the previous 6 months are now broken. Some of them, permanently. Those that aren’t, I can’t update, because the Mod Sites are being HAMMERED by 7 million people all looking for updated versions of their Raiding Mods for their Raid they are scheduled to go on tomorrow night…or tonight, or whatever.
I feel like the life has been sucked out of my characters, between having to face the default Blizzard User Interface, and all the friends that I’ve made…well, many of them are bitching about how whatever rank they got to in the Battleground System is the last rank they’ll ever have…whatever.
I may unsubscribe. I don’t know.

Tentatively looks like March 3-6.
Part of me is tickled pink that the few people who were really and truly elitest about raiding now have to raid as all the other regular players do.
Then again part of me wonders if it was necessary to blanket kill all of the mods available and not just the ones that allowed people to one button play the game. Fear not. I think the changes will be, as all other changes have, accounted for and mods will once again become available.
As for PvP rank – other than bragging rights (and let’s think about the bragging that goes into literally days worth of hours played in BGs to attain a rank and what that says about life in general) the only value to rank was getting PvP gear.
Now PvP gear can be attained through BG marks and reputation. Since I don’t PvP much I can’t be certain why Blizz felt it was necessary but I don’t think that the PvP system is anymore broken than it was before. Mayhap it’s just my differing opinion on the value of PvP.
I do like the fact that they released the 41 point talent trees early. I have a resto druid that is absolutely a GAWD in healing now with next to no +heal gear. All because I happened to have a high spirit score to begin with.
Cheer up. Time will tell but I believe this won’t be anymore game breaking than any previous significant revision.
