I added a subcategory to my "people who get blocked" list

Under "People who are just plain stupid"
Add: *People who unironically use 'lol' as punctuation*

I might be forgiving if you're, like, 15. The person who did it is well over 50, by my guess.

  1. It is so tempting to write lol, which I don't do, because I only smiled in a very sofisticated way and because the semi-ironic using of all language is depleting words and phrases from meaning anything real.

  2. how else are we to express that we're laughing out loud… or llol (literally laughing out loud), or omgiffoomclmaol (oh my god I fucking fell out of my chair laughing my ass off literally)

  3. I rarely use lol. Instead I type out "ha" or use lqtm. Unless I did bust out. The I'll describe the degree.
I mean, lol. You stoopid artard! Lol!

  4. I NEVER use "lol". I "hahahaha" or I "lulz" ironically.

The number of "ha"s is directly proportional to how hard/long I actually laughed.

  5. lol – it's easy to spot when someone is using 'LOL' to indicate that they're laughing.
It's also obvious when they're using it as punctuation instead lol

  6. I wonder if there are rules for punctuation like that lol like using lol as a comma lol and maybe using lmao as a full stop lmao

Of course lol that leaves things like semicolons rofl many people don't know how to use those correctly lol anyway lol but rofl could be used for those lmao

And with all that lol this comment looks like something found on many a facebook account lmao

  7. I actually type out :::laughing:::. On the rare occasion that I do use LOL I use it with punctuation. Like this LOL.  I've tried out ha ha or haha but I don't like how it looks.

Yet another of the many reasons I sleep alone at night.
