Note: This is a personal blog, and the only use of any of this is for me to go, "huh, Cool." on the rare occasion I think to go look at any of this stuff and realize that (based on the analytics) about 3 people per month still care what the internal dimensions of a 10 year old MINI Cooper S Clubman are...

This man is my goddamn hero
You can fucking walk to the Amazon rainforest. That's free as free gets.
And people young and old have been hoofing it around the planet for chump change ever since we were all chumps.
My old boss, he has a son. This son graduated college, then took a year off. He'd saved $20 grand while paying for college, and on that $20,000 and 395 days before his first student loan was due, he visited 37 countries and found a permanent job in New Zealand.
You're a fucking pessimist. =)
I believe so, yes.
Shit, Audball and I drove the Peak to Peak highway with a bunch of Audi guys yesterday, and my outlook is improved today – and that was less than 150 miles of travel!
(Though, to be fair, the Shrimp Po Boy at Oskar Blues was a BIG help in that department)
This comment is so I can Plus that some more.
And yet again.
It definitely takes money- enough to afford the travel and the time off work. I think it's an important goal to meet once you have the means; way more important than owning a huge home or driving a fancy car or having more stuff. But I think humans are capable of being conscious and conscientious of their advantages within and impact on the global community without having to prioritize going to see it in person.
Walking to the Amazon from Denver would take over 100 days, averaging 36 miles a day (optimistic). That is, if you weren't robbed, kidnapped, or killed on your way there. But yea, I agree with the point Mr. Rollins makes. Sometimes I get to travel overseas for work. Istanbul and Bangkok are eye-openers for sure. It has made me appreciate my own country more. My showers are the same length however 😛
