Friends Don't Let Friends Shoot Vertical Video

I meant to post about this yesterday but a post by +Marques Brownlee just reminded me of it. There's a scene in episode 3 of Under the Dome  in which a kid is shooting a vertical video on his phone. A few seconds later when he's watching the video at his home on his widescreen monitor the video is miraculously missing the black bars that result from vertical videos. I wanted to scream at the screen and say "No!" because vertical videos don't fix themselves. 

Friends don't let friends shoot vertical videos.
