  1. The whole setup is IKEA, and ran us about $400 for everything.
    2x Expedit shelving units
    3 packages Capita Legs
    4 packages Capita Brackets
    2 Vika Amon 60" tabletops
    1 Antifoni work lamp
1 Dioder multi-color LED lighting set (currently set to purple)
    1 Franklin stool.

  2. All of it is awesome! But I especially approve of the tapestry and the Tardis/Delorian art. I am envious of your beautiful setup.

  3. They're standing desks, so the seating is "backup", really.
I've had my setup for 13 months, and I'm feeling a whole lot better than I used to.
I used to come home from work, plop my ass in a chair and game for 5-6 hours.
I still game a lot (4-5 hours some nights), but probably 70% of that is done standing now…

Call it an extra 15 hours a week standing vs. sitting.

  4. Yep, I have played Starcraft more than a few hours standing.  Helps to do some squats/stretches every little while.  Standing 100% can be quite bad for you too.

  5. The last time I met someone in person that I first met online, they greatly exceeded my expectations in the height department.  So… I wouldn't be surprised if that's true.

  6. For one, with a height of 42".

    HOWEVER:
If you already have a good sized desk and/or table, and you want to give it a try, I recommend the LACK Table Route
    http://iamnotaprogrammer.com/Ikea-Standing-desk-for-22-dollars.html

I have two of them at work that I just set on my regular desk. I set the monitors on them, and I took out the "middle front" legs (so each table has three legs. I have a wireless mouse and keyboard that I can set either on, or under, the tables and stand or sit as needed. When you lean on the tables, they press together tighter, and the missing legs aren't really a factor, unless you're pressing REALLY hard.
