Been a long time since I have seen one of those.
My nephew and I were at the capitol complex in Lansing Mi many years ago. I was taking pictures of him. I forgot it was the first Saturday of the month, when they tested the sirens. I would not recommend standing next to one of those when it goes off. I swear that was the longest few minutes of our lives.
In Oak Ridge, TN they test the air-raid sirens every first Wednesday of every month. I often wonder what out-of-towners do if no local is there to tell them it is only a test, lol.
+Valerie Wallace Yes, that is what I was thinking of. The "first Saturday" test from when I lived in Michigan. Are they still worried about the Russians attacking or something? No such thing that I know of in California – though there should be something for Tsunamis- that is a more likely way for me to get hit.
Not the Russians anymore.
The Chinese, however?
They used them as tornado warnings as well
Ah tornadoes – of course – I forgot.
Just spent like 15 minutes playing this over and over to watch my dogs reacting. They were howling in unison; thanks for the fun! 😉
