Note: This is a personal blog, and the only use of any of this is for me to go, "huh, Cool." on the rare occasion I think to go look at any of this stuff and realize that (based on the analytics) about 3 people per month still care what the internal dimensions of a 10 year old MINI Cooper S Clubman are...

+Jeremy Stratton I was going to mention a story about the time some of my portals were being attacked so I took a bus into Glasgow on a Sunday night and walked around in a park at 9:30pm in the dark, all alone. Stupidest and scariest thing I've done while playing Ingress. Nothing happened, but knowing Glasgow, it easily could have.
+Valerie Wallace Joking aside, that is where my bit of sarcasm came from.
So far I've seen about 4 posts in my G+ circles where a person "went the distance" and went around town and all hours of the night.
The larger, country-wide, world-wide thing that fascinates me is the possibility of utilizing this behavior to "push" bad elements further out of culture.
I mean, if you get to a point where "decent" people are going to all these places all the time, it can start to open up and blossom into change.
I personally don't think it will, but it's the mechanisms that lead to this behavior that interest me.
That's essentially what happened to the Internet with the Social Movement.
Today? we do all sorts of things we would NEVER have done years ago, online, because it was how, why and where the "bad element" went and utilized things for bad and all that.
We still have fraud and need to be careful, but things do shift and change.
