When DEN gets weather. Rain, Wind, Lightning, etc.
What do the two flashing lights mounted every so often on the outer edges of the concourse signify?
* Flashing Amber/yellow/Orange/whatever that is.
* Flashing Blue
Coupled with audible tone alarm sometimes, and sometimes not…
That is Southwest's lightning detection indication system.
Orange and the single tone means within 8 miles, no headsets during pushback.
Blue and the dual tone means within 3 miles, ramp closed.
