+Audrey Lee and I just got kicked out of a hangout (that I started) by a remote user ( +matt derpson )who scavenged my IP somehow.
"Oh, this isn't going to be funny" he said, and +Audrey Lee's hangout disconnected. 3 seconds later, my hangout disconnected, telling me that the network connection wasn't available.
I reconnected, and so did Audrey. Then he asked if +Audrey Lee lived in or around Brighton or Denver, CO (our location is in our profiles, but our GEOIP resolves to Brighton).
Not. Cool.
Other users in the hangout suggested that +Andy Bohm might be interested in hearing this news.
Interesting
Sounds like an idiot.
Rule 1. Never click any links in chat from people you dont know.
I clicked no link.
It doesn't sound far that he clicked you out of the Hangout that you started! 🙁 This guy sounds like a control freak…….. report him! He also sounds like he can't read properly! e.e
Someone you were both hanging out with?
I wasn't on that hangout.
I mean +Jonathon Barton and +Audrey Lee . Wondering if someone in the hangout was messing with them or if it was just them?
harmful or not that sounds pretty creepy
Wha +Christopher Lira said. I've never seen that happen without clicking a link. That's pretty frightening.
Holy shit!
WOW. That's a new one. Please post a follow up – I'd be curious to hear what one can do to avoid this.
Weird that your IP resolves to Brighton – I am closer to Brighton and mine resolves in Thornton. If Google wants to see Hangouts gain traction they are going to have to address issues like this.
Matt Derpson – nice last name.
