This was the most startling of the videos I saw of it. Some of the others showed how bright it got, though.
Shows they might notice the bigger ones but this got by and killed a lot of people.

Still conflicting reports but yeah crazy stuff
Yeah, BBC News now says 250+ injured, 100+ taken to hospitals. KSL.com now says 400+ injured, 3 in serious condition.
assume i can't watch videos because my husband is asleep two feet away from me.
working under that assumption, someone tell me what the fuck happened.
+Andrea The Great Saw it on the news this morning. A meteor flew over (about 20 miles up) central Russia, near one of the old nuclear sites. It burned up and exploded in atmosphere.

There is a bigger one that is supposed to fly over later. It's supposed to be the size of an olympic sized pool. Not sure if it's supposed to be further away. They mentioned it would "graze" the atmosphere… whatever that means in scientific terms.
+Matthew Lindberg http://www.nasa.gov/topics/solarsystem/features/asteroidflyby.html It's expected to pass about 17,000 miles over the earth.
