Note: This is a personal blog, and the only use of any of this is for me to go, "huh, Cool." on the rare occasion I think to go look at any of this stuff and realize that (based on the analytics) about 3 people per month still care what the internal dimensions of a 10 year old MINI Cooper S Clubman are...

I left DIA after 12 years to take a contract as a ServiceNow Developer with a company near Boulder.
I'm contracted for 960 hours of work between now and June, 100% remote after the first week.
* I like the people I'm working with a lot.
* There are many fewer barriers to Getting Stuff Done.
* Between now and the beginning of June, I get 22.5 workdays of my life back – time that I used to spend twice a day sitting in a rolling, heated chair with music and a nice view of…traffic.
* The pay is…mindbogglingly different. While I have to pay all my own taxes, find my own healthcare, take care of my own retirement, etc., after accounting for those differences, Net for Net, it looks like I'll bring home 124% of what I made this year, in only 24 weeks.
In a nutshell, I can do meaningful work that I love, from anywhere I have a network connection (and with 3g/4g cellular connections and an 80GB/mo data plan, that's a LOT of places), and get paid BANK to do it.
Wow, congratulations! Much success to you!
Very nice!
