"He said the privately held company took in about $85 million last year, adding it employs about 200 workers during the pepper-grinding season and 60 year-round."
That's right folks – Market Giant and beloved Sriracha manufacturer Huy Fong Foods is a Small Business, with only 60 FTEs in the whole company.

Nothing is legal in California. Is there anything they won't outlaw?
California is the worse state in the US period
🙁
I've been near the Tobasco factory in Louisiana. There's a reason it's in the middle of the river miles from anything.
While I'm sad about this, why the hell is what's basically a pepper spray factory anywhere near residences?
Most of the complaints came from four residences….
Makes me wonder if some of this is like the people that buy nice, affordable homes near airports (Stapleton, DIA) , then complain about all the noise.
I am sure there were public hearings and case studies done when.they moved two years ago. What about data from the previous factory?
SAVE THE ROOSTER SAUCE!!
Well, that wasn't my point, so much.
Turns out that The Sriracha People that put Cock Sauce in so many restaurants aren't some big conglomerate. They're basically 10 people away from being exempt from the ACA.
Think about that next time you decide you hate your job and think about doing something where you're the business owner.
Also, like Egg Foo Yung and Chow Mein, Sriracha isn't Chinese, or even Asian – it's Californian.
I'm thinking 85 million is a nice bit of taxes we'll take em over here. Why would anyone try to run a honest reputable business that generates that much tax revenue. Bleep you California!
