It's a sad thing, but still… Women and navigating…
Also, if they were able to make a phone call, wouldn't they also be able to open their doors/windows and get them selves to safety?
You can't open a door of a car underwater.
This is why you spend $10 for a tool that cuts seatbelts and smashes car windows.
Ah yes. Victim blaming. No Internet post would be complete without it.
They had a phone. Couldn't that be used to smash a window?
Actually an internet post has nothing to do with it. If my family were sitting around the breakfast table and we read this in the story, we'd feel bad for them, then follow it up with a discussion on how everyone that owned a car should spend $10 to get something to break the windows with. I've had discussions on this topic many times with family members, and I know a friend that keeps a small metal baton in his car for this very reason. I'm not blaming the victim as much as using it as a cautionary tale.
…which is, of course, an exact reiteration of the contents of the original post.
