…every siren, on every police car, fire truck and ambulance in Brighton going to the intersection of Bromley Lane and I-76.
Sprinkle liberally with two helpings of Life Flight landing and taking off.
I would say “I hope everyone’s OK.”, but my experiences have taught me that when one helicopter comes, someone’s not OK. When TWO helicopters come….it’s really not OK. So, hoping that everyone’s OK is kinda pointless at the moment. So I’ll indulge my pragmatic tendencies and say, “I’m really glad I had to get up early this morning to go autocrossing, anyway.”
Got a new airsoft gun yesterday. A Glock 18c replica. MMMmmm Full Auto Pistols rock. 🙂
Wish me luck today!

Bleh. What a rotten wake up call. And you’re right, it’s probably far more in line to say “I hope no-one is dead” than “I hope everyone’s ok.”
What’s an airsoft gun? Is it different from a regular gun?
And good luck today!!

My question is this: What was a car full of 5 teenagers (as reported on the news last night – the passenger that was killed was only 20) doing on the frontage road at a quarter to 5am on a Sunday Morning? Particularly THAT frontage road (that I occasionally use to get to my house)
Even at the tail end of rush hour when I come home, it’s rare to see even two cars on that road…much less have two cars on the road at 5am.
It just doesn’t make any sense to me…
Here’s a Map.

The accident occurred on the frontage road right about where you’d draw a line east from “Pelican Street”.
That frontage road doesn’t really GO anywhere.
If you need to get to Bridge Street (which doesn’t actually have any bridges on it, BTW), you’d take 50th St. (and a lot of people do).
Hardly anyone uses that frontage road…so I’m left scratching my head – unlike the accident I was a witness to a few months ago, where it was a drunk lady leaving a bar – I measured it with Google Earth, and she got less than 1000 yards from the bar before hitting the pickup that was in front of me almost head on.
* Airsoft guns explained.
* Thanks! Your luck brought me a first place finish in my class! (which is a first in the year and a half I’ve been autocrossing! 🙂

So what happened?

One killed, everyone else seriously injured – more details in my response to lirren’s comment.
and, despite only 5 hours of sleep, I placed first in my class at the Autocross. 🙂
