That's pretty much what I got out of it, too

"Oh, damn! Shit's getting better! OH NOES!"

None of this should be taken to imply that the situation is good, or to deny that we should be doing better — a shortfall largely due to the scorched-earth tactics of Republicans, who have blocked any and all efforts to accelerate the pace of recovery. (If the American Jobs Act, proposed by the Obama administration last year, had been passed, the unemployment rate would probably be below 7 percent.)

Truth About Jobs
The data show an improving economy, and that’s what the right wing can’t handle.

  1. I can't help but shake my head at all the Republicans who keep whining about how Obama couldn't get anything passed and wouldn't work with Congress.  Congress voted against every single thing he supported out of pure spite, don't give me that shit.

  2. +Brittany Constable Exactly. And in a lot of places they're getting away with it too which boggles my mind. If I was a Republican, I still wouldn't vote Republican this year. If the Democrats were a party of bad ideas, the Republicans were the party of no ideas. In fact, they were just the party of no. 'No' is not a valid political strategy and they should not be rewarded for it. :

  3. +Joshua Miller I'm not a straight-ticket kind of girl, but I'll be voting a straight Democratic ticket this year.  It's my fervent desire to see the GOP go down in flames, and to see a non-insane conservative party grow up to take its place.  It's happened before, so it's only a matter of time.  The non-insane members of the party, both officials and citizens, would do well to distance themselves before the implosion.
