When I took the MINI in for the first scheduled oil change the other day, I had them add silver Sport Stripes to get that 'finished' MINI look.

I <3 them so much.

  1. The MINI is bloody brilliant. I'm have mixed feelings that the Clubman is being discontinued after this year.
On the one hand, "Boo! No more Clubman!"
On the other hand, "Yay! I have the last year of Clubman – it should hold some extra value in another 4 years when it's Time To Go…"

I can also compare it to the loaner I had for the day of the oil change was a Countryman S…automatic. It didn't have that 'MINI' cachet. It was too much like a normal car. Window switches were on the driver's door panel, for example. It has the same 1.6L engine as the smaller MINI, but it's much larger and heavier, and with the automatic, it was pretty gutless.

The Clubman, however, retains all the rollerblading corner carving of the Hardtop, while being able to seat 4x 6' adults, and carry some cargo, OR, it can do this:

    …and still average 33+ MPG.

The Clubman is by far the MINI with the most utility.
